wake up call…

We were awoken by the sound of hot air balloons….Lots of them.  With the ucky weather all week they haven’t been able to get out all week.  It was really cool to see the sky covered with hundreds of balloons.  Did you know that they are very loud and noisy?  It is a cool kind of noise.  It was so hard to get all the cool balloons, but I got a few.

Our Fall Break…

So to start our fall break wondering what we would do….like relax and enjoy it.  NOT….Weds night while relaxing and waiting for dinner be done, Bryan comes running in carrying Carson yelling he broke his wrist.  I took one look and yelled at Duane to grab him and lets go to the ER.  Sitting in the back seat with Carson who has a huge bloody nose with paper towel soaked in blood and a wrist that I didn’t know could look like that.  We get checked in and wait and wait….

Yes it looked really scary.  But the amazing thing is he didn’t cry and not any pain medicine.  After xrays and stuff they decided they just needed to move it a little to align the bone.  It was a painful move but he stayed strong.

Today we went to the orthopedic specialist and they checked on it and wanted to cast it.  But instead of being a straight out casting they had to do traction and then cast it.  First they had to numb the area, that was painful.  The spot under his wrist is not blood just the iodine.

After being in traction for 10 mins, they pulled on the bone to align it.  Yes as you all squirm it was very painful, he cried but just a little.

Now on to the cast.

So that is how we start our “Fall Break” I advise everyone not the way to do it.
