Celebrating kids and family

Yesterday was a very, very busy day for our family. Meg had colorguard comp. in Logan. The band placed 3rd and they placed 2nd. It is a big deal, because they haven't placed in years. We are so proud of her. The rest of the family plus one (AK's friend) headed to SLC for an Early Intervention kick off at Murray Park that I was on the committee for. We have been planning this for 4 months and we had a good turnout. Radio Disney was there we had crafts, we had goodies. We got a lot of people who were just in the neighborhood and several who came through their programs. We were glad it was over with. Afterwards we headed to feed the crowd and then went to Thanksgiving Point to CornBelly's maze. It cost $7 for the whole family. What a deal...I will have pictures after I can get them done. There was a lot to do. It was very hot, the corn maze was hot, we got lost, but it was fun. They had so much to do with the kids. We finally left and headed home at 5pm. What a long, long day. Duane had to go to work at Pizza Man but he only stayed for a little bit. Asking Carson later on if he had fun he said "A lot of fun" I love spending time with the family and it is a good memory for them. I love them so much...

fall is coming

Well, this weekend has proved that fall is coming.. and fast. The boys had a campout this weekend and got rained on. And today is a day that I am going to make homemade chicken noodle soup and cuddle in a blanket and watch tv. It is cold and rainy. Bryan is home sick, or so he says. It is amazing how well they get after an hour or two. Well, it seems like I have a lot to do, but avoid doing it just as much..another day.

I went with Carson on his fieldtrip to the library. We walked there with both classes. Up the hill, but coming home was all down hill. It was fun...

It,s been 30 years that he has been dad. I look at my birth certificate and see him on there, little did he know at such a young age he had a daughter waiting for him. He has been my dad in all rights and reasons. He will always be my eternal dad. We had a lot of struggles and growth through the years, but we are better for it. I love him very much and he will always be my dad.

Time to remember..

As it gets closer to 9-11, it is hard to not stop and be thankful for what we have in this great country. Sometimes we forget what we have and what other countries don't have. I remember tha day very vividly and I will remember the pain and the hurt that I felt along with all the nation as we watched in horror as the nightmare played in front of us. Let's take this week and remeber those that serve and fight for for our freedom. We live so close to an airforce base, and we see these brave people all around us. Give them a big thank-you. I will hold my family closer to me.

September challenge

Finances always seem such a dark void, unless you get a handle on them daily. It is so easy to stash the bills and focus on other things. I am am going to organize and bring to the fore front all the impending bills and issues. I need to find a set time and plan, and pay bills. We are also talking about extra ways to make money that will benefit the family. So my goal is to be more in tune of my own finances and plan a lot better.

Megs room

So the progress is progressing. Now we have all 4 walls up, the hallway walls up also. My window looks great, the outside is still rocky from all the dirt we had to move (appearently Roy is built on a rock bed, and boy do we have rocks!!) I almost have it all taped and next is the rest of the mudding-the part I hate the most. It is weird to realize how much has been done to that space in the last few months. And the cool part is that I have done most of it with a lot help from Duane and our neighbor Lynn. So keep watch because soon there will be a cool new room pictured.

ideas, phones and more

Well, it's been a few days. That's what happens when you work 6 days straight and don't get a holiday--Sunday night the power went out at Wally. It was entertaining we were able to get everyone out the door before the registers turned off, then I sent my cashiers to break and lunches when the power came back on an hour later. I had 3 cashiers and people waiting at the doors to come in because when their power is out at home-of course you come to wally world. I had to call all the floor help to help me until my cashiers came slowly back. It has been a crazy hectic weekend, I am off today-YEAH!!!! So D and I did some talking about making extra money and came up with an issue we have talked about before-okay he has I wasn't ready. I am going to make memory quilts and photo albums. So I need to make samples. I need to get pictures from those I have made. This venture will take awhile, because I am also trying to finish Megs room and get my Real Estate finished. But I feel like I am in a place to pursue this endevor, I am very excited. The name I like is "Peek into a Memory", what do you think??
Well, I have a million things going, but for today my neighbor is on his way over and we are going to tackle Megs room. I am hoping in the next couple of weeks to move her out of my family room/craft area into her own room. AK inherited Megs phone since her mom insisted she get her a phone that has text messaging and is on her account. It works because AK is in heaven. So give her a call on her "new" cell phone @ 675-9969. He is home sick today, we have been fighting sore throats and colds. She keeps her phone close by, because she thinks it may disappear. QWest is switching to verizon so she will be getting a brand new phone when that happens, so she is even more excited. So for now there is peace and joy at our humble abode..
