this is what happens when mom goes to work---

So, this is what happens when there is great brotherly and sisterly love. He worships her and will do about anything she asks of him. Thus is the proof-what great blackmail pictures---

it is done..

Yes,after many months a miracle did hapoen yesterday-Meg's room is done, yes, I said done!!!Okay except for the molding and trim because when we went to poick it up Sat at 12:12, they closed at 12. She has moved in, and I think she is lost because we haven't seen here. She got back from her mom's and we surprised her, she kept asking when it was going to be done. We had a few long days and nights but we are proud of it.

a visit with Mrs. Claus

Today after a much needed snowstorm, I spent the afternoon with carson's class going to Christmas Village. Luckily it is within walking diastance, but it is the annual trek to the village. Mrs. Clause gives them a tour and then they get a treat. It was fun. I try and go on as many fieldtrips as I can. I get to go to Salt Lake on Thurs. with AK, I am driving though, me on a bus full of 7th graders-NOT

This is what happens when it snows and they grow..

Well, guess what? It finally looks like Christmas. Last night was crazy at work, they called me in early and it was so busy. Two of my overnight cashiers got in a car accident, they carpool together. One may have a broken a wrist and the other is very pregnant but the last we heard she was okay. I have slowly been working on things, I almost have my stocking holder made, I just need to get it stable on the fireplace. The snowsuit picture is what happens when you really want to go play in the snow and try on last years snowsuit and well, the picture tells all. But the funniest was she tryied on another and it was even cuter, but she wouldn't let me get a picture. So guess what we need to get her this year..a new snow suit
11 days until Christmas, It is almost here

now the final countdown-12 days before Christmas

So here we go with our countdown secret pixie. We like to count down then count up, 1 day before Christmas sounds a lot better then 12 days before Christmas. So here goes day one- So between working all night, having no money and just plain not knowing what to get, I hit the stores and came up with ideas finally and then D. and I hit the internet and found most of what we wanted online- saves me from dealing with people at crowded stores. I have almost my two packages ready to be sent to a couple of people. It will be over with soon.

christmas season underway and buried deep in it...

I love this time of year but due to finances and working overnights it has put a kink in my Christmas plans. MAybe if I lay it all out it will seem not so overwhelming. Fisrt I am making 3 dresses for one of my cashier, the baby was born 3 months early(I haven't made a dress that small for awhile) plus after the baby was born my cashier was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Every year I make a dress(or dresses) for someone else because I like to and it is my way of giving. Next I have my three girls dresses to sew.(i have the material, I just need to do it). I need to make my snowmen gifts(I'll explain later) and my Christmas plaques and my teacher presents. I am also helping/spear heading the Christmas angel tree at the kids school. With only 1 1/2 weeks left we still haven't got the items on the tree yet, hoping on Mon. Next I have my basement-emptying it to the carport so we can put carpet, and then we are in the process of finishing Megs room-yeah!! so we can move her in before we clear the basement. Next is the best project which we have had ready for a couple of weeks. The twelve days before CHristmas--We have to make a few things. I will document the 12 days, when I get a second. Plus I am making a project, a christmas card documenting the past 15 years as a family at Christmas, I am excited about that one. Next I am still in need to build by wall piece to hang my 24 days(okay now it is less, but the kids have been taking the gifts out of the basket)plus a couple of other projects. It just seems that there is not enough time before this great day approaches. Well, here I go, I work all night then I am off until thurs night. So I will just plow in between school programs, church programs, school fieldtrips, and church activities..Say a pray, cross your fingers and don't hold your breathe for me because hopefully I will make dent, because there is always another week after this...

up to our ears in sewer..

Not quite that much, but Monday night our sewer flooded our basement. What a ness, I bailed atleast 4-5 buckets of water. It seeped into all the surrounding rooms. We called the insurance and waited until morning. Service Master came in the morning, they have been wonderful.. they cut a 5 foot strip of carpet all along my family room and any where else there is carpet. They wore those little blue suits, and they they lectured me on bailing the water and walking in it. They tore all the baseboards and moulding. Luckily our insurance has a clause because most insurance don't cover sewage damage(something to check) but ours does up to $10,000. We have to carpet every inch of basement again and replace moulding and furniture. This was not what I was planning to do this month. Because that means we have to take everything out and we also need to finish Megs room to move her into it. The girls are sleeping upstairs because we have so many fans going that it is noisy, it sounds like they might fly away. So back to the fun...

Thanksgiving is almost here

Yeah, the kids are out of school until monday, this means I get to sleep in--that is exciting. Tomorrow we are going to the movies the girls are going to see Twilight while D and I take the other kids to see Madagascar. Then afterwards we get to look at the Christmas Tree Jubilee-a family tradition for years. I love this time of the year. Without doing the ballet i have a little more free time this weekend. We have a Christmas party friday night, and Meg is in a parade Sat night to turn on the lights in Ogden. What a fun time-and also work at Wally world this slow and non eventful weekend-just kidding, it will be crazy but fun

Congrats Meg...

One more exciting news, Meg made Winter guard for Roy High. She is very excited, she got a job also (actually two)...Way to go!!!

Thanksgiving is closer, and Christmas follows

Well, the Christmas holiday is coming up fast. Thanksgiving is next week, with Blitz on Friday. Overnights have been quiet but I know they will pick up. I am very sad because for the last 20 years (with a few missed) I have done Ballet West Nutcracker-either carpenter, or wardrobe and this year I got kicked off the list-there goes Christmas money, I am really sad, but life does go on. We have been busy as a family getting ready for this holiday, I am helping put together the Angel tree at the kids school, we are busy planning our secret pixie that we do as a family, we have the family in mind now we need to decide what to do, that is the best part of the season because it makes you forget your own problems and issues. We are in the middle of fighting custody issues with Megan's mom, what a very stressfull process. Well, I have a lot to do today. I have a friend coming over to help me finish Megan's room. It will be done in a couple of weeks, because HF needs to come visit and have a place to stay(hint, hint). My next project is to get my Christmas lights up, with D. having a broken foot it makes it hard for him, so I get the privelage. I love decorating for the Christmas season

what a week!!

Well, to start off I am very sad..my sister moved to back to Vegas and took with her my brother-in-law and niece and nephew--how could she?? My family is very sad, but we are happy for the job opportunity. I survived a week already of overnights. It was okay working, it is the getting rest during the day because your body says it needs to be up. Friday night I went on an overnight with the YW and Ym. AK and Meg went also. The weird part is that our stake campground is the same campground I went to 22 years ago as a youth. It brought back lots of fun memories. My mom went and what an adventure that was. It is wierd looking back and thinking I was here as a youth and here I am with my girls now. I have pictures, but I
I'll post them later. Ak got into the National junior Honor society last week. Meg has tryouts for Winter guard right now-Good luck!!(we know she'll make it)

I made it!!

Well, my first all night shift. The work was okay, it was just slow but I kept busy and time went by fast. It was the once home that i got really sick. I got an hour nap yesterday, so I was very tired. I came home and went to bed, between the kids getting off to school(they wer very good), the dogs, and then the phone. It was a long morning. I have a major headache and want to throw up, so here I go back to bed before I have to pick up kids. I turned the phone off and the dogs will go out first then I will tackle a nap. I know it will be worth it, but it will take a couple of weeks. I am off until thurs. night. Good night..

overnights-good or bad???

So, I was told I will be going overnights, but first I have to be replaced. I was hopung to start Sat., but we will see. I am excited for the extra money it will bring in and the availability it allows during the week for the kids. I will work Thurs-Sun 9 or 10pm to 6 or 7am. I have not done overnights before, but D. and the kids are going to very supportive and allow me to rest hopefully, or at least as much as i can get with 5 kids, 2 dogs and a husband. Soon, we will be in full swing into the holidays. Wal-mart already has Christmas music playing and FM100. I am very, very excited. I love Christmas, so my kids plug their ears in the car.

Pumpkin walk

While at work I was reading the newspaper and read about this Pumpkin Walk in Syracuse. It is a big thing there are over 800 pumpkins. So I loaded the kids in the van and headed to Syracuse. I-having never been thought that this would be quick and fast. We get there and after waiting in a very long line for over 1 hour, yes over an hour of waiting in the cold weather. Then the camera batteries died, I don't plan those things very well. The pumpkins were very cool. They also had treats along the way. It was a fun experience, we'll see about next year. They only do it one weekend. The kids had fun even though they were very tired by the time we finished.

Followers

So I've added a new link to let me know who follows the site. It is always interesting to know. Blogging is a great way for me to follow those I care about and also to let those who care about us to follow our lives so I don't have to repeat it a million times. Thanks for all those that care about us.

our poor trees...

As much as the kids enjoyed that it snowed our poor trees did not. Rocky Mtn. had to come out and help one tree come down and more branches didn't like it much and fell to their doom. The branches were not ready for the heavy snow that fell. We got atleast 5-6 inches. On my way home from work last night it looked like a war zone with all the trees down throughout the neighborhood.

Celebrating kids and family

Yesterday was a very, very busy day for our family. Meg had colorguard comp. in Logan. The band placed 3rd and they placed 2nd. It is a big deal, because they haven't placed in years. We are so proud of her. The rest of the family plus one (AK's friend) headed to SLC for an Early Intervention kick off at Murray Park that I was on the committee for. We have been planning this for 4 months and we had a good turnout. Radio Disney was there we had crafts, we had goodies. We got a lot of people who were just in the neighborhood and several who came through their programs. We were glad it was over with. Afterwards we headed to feed the crowd and then went to Thanksgiving Point to CornBelly's maze. It cost $7 for the whole family. What a deal...I will have pictures after I can get them done. There was a lot to do. It was very hot, the corn maze was hot, we got lost, but it was fun. They had so much to do with the kids. We finally left and headed home at 5pm. What a long, long day. Duane had to go to work at Pizza Man but he only stayed for a little bit. Asking Carson later on if he had fun he said "A lot of fun" I love spending time with the family and it is a good memory for them. I love them so much...

fall is coming

Well, this weekend has proved that fall is coming.. and fast. The boys had a campout this weekend and got rained on. And today is a day that I am going to make homemade chicken noodle soup and cuddle in a blanket and watch tv. It is cold and rainy. Bryan is home sick, or so he says. It is amazing how well they get after an hour or two. Well, it seems like I have a lot to do, but avoid doing it just as much..another day.

It,s been 30 years that he has been dad. I look at my birth certificate and see him on there, little did he know at such a young age he had a daughter waiting for him. He has been my dad in all rights and reasons. He will always be my eternal dad. We had a lot of struggles and growth through the years, but we are better for it. I love him very much and he will always be my dad.

Time to remember..

As it gets closer to 9-11, it is hard to not stop and be thankful for what we have in this great country. Sometimes we forget what we have and what other countries don't have. I remember tha day very vividly and I will remember the pain and the hurt that I felt along with all the nation as we watched in horror as the nightmare played in front of us. Let's take this week and remeber those that serve and fight for for our freedom. We live so close to an airforce base, and we see these brave people all around us. Give them a big thank-you. I will hold my family closer to me.

September challenge

Finances always seem such a dark void, unless you get a handle on them daily. It is so easy to stash the bills and focus on other things. I am am going to organize and bring to the fore front all the impending bills and issues. I need to find a set time and plan, and pay bills. We are also talking about extra ways to make money that will benefit the family. So my goal is to be more in tune of my own finances and plan a lot better.
